Shipping & Insurance

Every work leaves our hands exactly as it left the artist's studio.

Specialist art shipping

Original artworks are not parcels. We ship exclusively through specialist fine-art couriers experienced in handling paintings, photographs, and sculpture. Depending on the size, medium, and destination, your work will travel by one of three methods:

  • Standard Art Shipping — professional art courier, custom protective packaging, tracked door-to-door. Typical transit 5–10 business days within Europe; 10–21 days intercontinental.
  • Express Art Shipping — priority routing via climate-controlled art logistics. Typical transit 3–5 business days within Europe; 5–10 days intercontinental.
  • White-Glove Delivery — dedicated art shuttle, soft-padded vehicle, installation by trained art handlers at your premises. Available for select destinations; quoted at checkout or on request.

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the work's dimensions, weight, and your delivery address.

Packaging

Every work is custom-packed to museum-transit standards. This typically includes:

  • Acid-free tissue and glassine wrapping against the surface.
  • Foam corner protectors and rigid edge guards.
  • Double-wall or triple-wall cardboard outer, or a bespoke wooden crate for large, fragile, or high-value works.
  • Climate-barrier film for international shipments crossing humidity zones.
  • A “This Way Up” and “Fragile — Fine Art” exterior label.

Sculpture and three-dimensional works are individually crated with internal bracing shaped to the piece.

Insurance

All shipments are fully insured nail-to-nail — from the moment the work leaves our premises until it is delivered and signed for at yours. Coverage is for the full retail value of the work against loss, theft, and accidental damage in transit.

  • Insurance is included in your shipping cost at no additional charge.
  • Coverage is provided through a specialist fine-art insurance underwriter.
  • In the unlikely event of a claim, we manage the entire process on your behalf — from condition reporting to settlement.

Customs, duties & taxes

For international orders, import duties, VAT, or sales tax may apply depending on your country's regulations. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the price shown on the website.

  • We provide full commercial invoices and any export documentation required by your customs authority.
  • Original artworks typically attract a reduced duty rate in most jurisdictions (e.g. 0% in the EU and UK for original paintings and sculpture under HS code 9701–9703).
  • If you need guidance on likely import charges, contact us before purchasing and we will provide an estimate based on your country.

Delivery timelines

  • United Kingdom — 3–7 business days (standard), 1–3 days (express).
